About JSSP

JSSP Mission statement. In a world wherein rush to the city seems to be inevitable, whereas the natural green is brutally and often irresponsibly replaced by somber works of concrete and asphalt, looking for alternatives to restore territorial balance is a task as responsible as much needed in our attempt to address the emerging future of mankind.
The Journal of Settlements and Spatial Planning aims to find the most appropriate forms of certified scientific insights to this general and particular challenge. The journal becomes a proper international forum and suitable support for the voice of the collaborative research of a wide range of specialists in the fields of geography, rural and urban planning, agro-forestry sciences, social, economic, etc.
Since 2010, our journal has been edited biannually, in English, under the aegis of the Center for Research on Settlements and Urbanism, Faculty of Geography, Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca.

Benefits to authors. Our journal focuses on providing open access to the original research results of the specialists in the field and easing the information transfer for the geographical scientific community to be able to read and download all the papers already published by JSSP.

Open access policy. In order to encourage the transfer of scientific content to all the specialists in the field, Journal of Settlements and Spatial Planning provides free access to articles published in all issues.

Publication fee. Starting with January 1st, 2018, some changes in the editorial publication policy of Journal of Settlements and Spatial Planning are implemented. The same policy will be applied to all published articles, be them included in regular or special issues. Thus, charges will be applied to authors for the processing and publication of manuscripts submitted to JSSP after December 31st 2017, and subsequently accepted for publication.
