Abstract. In this paper, the author identifies the current problems of management of the animal kingdom and develops a series of recommendations necessary to solve and prevention these problems. Are highlighted the positive and negative aspects of wildlife management in the Soviet period, the effects of economic and institutional crisis in the transition period. Priority attention is paid to study the implementation of economic sanctions mechanism for damage caused by the animal kingdom. It made a deep comparative analysis of previous and current version of the Code of Administrative Offences in the field of wildlife resources and the application of administrative sanctions for these offences. It also addresses the methodology for evaluation of damage to the animal kingdom and efficiency of the actions of these environmental damages compensation. The author comes up with concrete solutions to problems identified, which may be useful for policy makers in this field.
